Thanks to my tweeps for these examples. I posed the question in the evening, and I expect to get more answers during the day, especially after I tweet this link. Please add your examples with tweets to me or in comments on my blog. Here are my suggestions for live-tweeting.

Examples of live-tweeting government meetings
December 16, 2011 by Steve Buttry
Hi Steve,
Catching up. I highly recommend the #cltcc hashtag to see how multiple people have livetweeted Charlotte city council meetings. Friend Susan Stabley of the Charlotte Business Journal is a pro at this effort, and others like Chris Miller of WBT radio have jumped in, including a local lobbyist for real estate interests, city council member Warren Cooksey and a changing cast of citizen tweeps.
The tag and tweeting have increased civic engagement, combined with traditional live public TV airing/streaming of council meetings.
(Everyone likes to watch football and tweet at the same time, right? Our council meetings at times have rivaled that feeling.)
Live tweeting while knowing you’re a part of a chorus, or ecosystem that includes lobbyists and elected officials, adds an interesting aspect.
Specific accounts: Susan at @cbjgreennews, Chris at @ChrisMillerWBT, Brad Broders at @news14Broders, the real estate lobbyist at @REBIC and Cooksey at @WCooksey, Mary Newsom, former Observer editorialist and now at the UNCC Urban Institute, at @marynewsom.
I could go on, but just check the tag. Susan started early, specifically to drive traffic back to her employer, even with a partial paywall.
